Congratulations to Frank Dowd and his team 'The Mince Pies' who defeated John Diskin's team 'The Bells' in the finals of the Cullen Butcher Turkey Tournament 2010.
Club President John Sinnott presented the prizes on behalf of Robert Cullen and thanked Robert for his continued support in sponsoring this very popular event.
Despite the terrible weather spirits were not dampened and well done to all the players, subs and everyone who helped to clear the courts so that this event was finished before Christmas.

The very popular
Cullen Butcher Turkey Tournament for members aged 16 or over commences on Monday 15th November and will run until finals night on Friday 10th December.  This is a team event with four mixed doubles pairings (once there is an even number of male/female players) and each pair play another pair of a similar standard.  Last year we had 15 teams of eight players and it was great fun.  In this competition everyone is in with a chance of winning a Turkey or Ham as everyone's points count.  Entry has now closed and details of the draws are available here.

Team details are here

Telephone numbers and a list of substitues will be given to each team captain.  Your captain will text you confirming your match date and time.  If you are unable to play please text your captain, do not arrange a sub yourself.  Please bring €10 on the night of your first game and give to your captain.
Each match will be the first to reach 11 points and a tie-break is only to be used if the score is tied at 10pts. each, so 44 points max. per team possible per match.
Matches will be played Monday to Friday starting on 15th November.  Due to the large entry we will be extending the competition into week commencing 6th December so finals night will now be Friday 10th December.
There are four Groups, 1,2,3 and 4.  The top two teams in each group will qualify for a quarter final spot.
